Yugoslavia pursued its own socialist path in the realm of culture, too, exporting its production to the Global South to showcase its progress. Though the Nonaligned Movement lacked a policy on culture, cultural cooperation was part and parcel of decolonization and peaceful coexistence. In the process, a global network of cultural exchanges and a distinct version of modernism developed.
